Peter Bone invents Pivot
The reason for Peter Bone to create a gif-program was that his other gif-program had expired, the second reason was to make one for his younger brother. Back then, Peter was age 24, his brother Dave was around 17.
Peter Bone did not intend to make the Program well-known, neither did he make it for any profit.

Adam creates Darkdemon.org
Adam created the DarkDemon domain in late 2005(?), basing it off of his own internet persona (his forum username was originally DarkDemon), the domain housed a forum extension that was managed by Bert. Adam later created a portal that became the main site. Over time the forum became the main focus and the portal faded into the background before being shutdown.

The reactivation of the MSN Group
Del/Michael reactivates the disabled MSN group, not intentionally for pivot but for his own purpose.
Masses of people join again, saying how nice it was to see the site back. The MSN Group was blooming again, old member re-joined and Peter, along with some others, explained to Del/Michael what the group was about.
They started to add Ranks and other ideas, and made the group even better.

within 2005, Peter Bone releases Pivot 3 for the MSN Group. He originally told them not to share it with others, since it was a Beta version. But the fire wasn't stoppable, Pivot 3 soon was to be found on many other upload-sites.
Summer 2007
Ken (stykzman) creates Stykz
The original Idea of Stykz was to make a development out of the Pivot's idea. At this time, Peter Bone didn't develop Pivot any further. Ken started to make the Program based on PIvot's static segments idea, adding a bunch of other helpful features to it, which were based on user's ideas.
Stykz had a good time, the stykzforum was full of motivated animators and users who were reporting bugs, posting ideas for further versions.

Mollila retires
After good 2 years of leading the site, mollila retires as webmaster, giving it away to another one. He did not intend to let the site down, he simply found out that it would take alot of more time to successful lead the site, even though he did his best. So he searched for an interested buyer.
In May 2013, he announced the change of webmasters- a User named Darkadmin got the ownership. This changed DD in a whole new level.

In May 2013, Darkadmin migrates darkdemon.org with animator.net
The new owner, Darkadmin, migrated the whole forum with a domain called animator.net. Just as migrations are, some old posts got lost, as well as causing little trouble with User's ranks or similar.
The Darkdemon's new name therefore was animator.net.

October 2013

April 2014
Thedarkdemon.com were created
The webmaster of animator.net, DarkAdmin, did let down the entire community, leaving the community in the dark. No one really knew if the webmaster disappeared or not. The current staff tried to contact him in many ways, which seemed to be either unread or ignored.
As this continued month by month, parts of the staff did not longer wanted to wait for him to appear again. Juke created thedarkdemon.org, along with others of the animator.net staff.
animator.net got spammed by people, trying to get others to thedarkdemon.com or simply trying to get DarkAdmin to post something.
Darkadmin responded with bans, downgrading staff member and normal member.
Some time later, DarkAdmin seemed not to even delete spam posts anymore, deactivated the possibility to edit own Threads due to the trouble, and also either turned off the search function or just left it there broken.
Currently, animator.net seems to be abandoned of DarkAdmin, leaving the community or newly joining users in a kind of broken forum.
