I think the effects could last just like a frame or two longer but other than that it looks nice.

For continuing it, you could have like a beam or something shoot at him that he eventually overcomes by being taken back a little at first. Once he is able to push back he goes and kills the guy who shot a laser at him, Or you could have him grab a sword out of the air and have him go on a good ol fashioned rampage, or anything else.

I like both of those ideas :D... I need some sword work so I think creating one of them for a good ole rampage will go nicely.

I have a question is he on a cliff cause you made the sticks feet a little too close to the horizon

The smoke effect is really nice to see. But its transparency should be eased. (example : 100 95 80 50 20 5 0)
Also, the shield is coloured with that 255 blue, argh.

@Anton Yeah the smoke gets me everytime when I look at it but I can't be bothered animating while under the trans haha Blue is awesome okay :D

I really like how the shield comes into two perspectives smoothly! looks really nice and the colours set the mood quite well!
As mentioned above, you can keep the effects in frame for a bit longer and it would make the animation even more so great :)
