How do I get VIP?

I got 50 posts..so where is my VIP :(

It was upped to 200 recently, though the whole post count to get VIP will be removed sometime in the next week or two I believe (at least I think that was the plan).

After that, VIP will be attainable through purchase, give-away, competitions and site contribution (I recently gave Luna VIP for the work on the logo design and all the sprite contributions).

it's kinda silly how they carry over things like retired staff from old dd to new dd but not old vip members. maybe im just anger but i'm not feelin the inconsistency of what goes and what stays yakno

Thing is, 90% of the people who came over are VIP or my-files. So the exclusive underground playhouse (TM) would be in full force if all those people get back VIP.

I had the same mind set as you Slushie, but this way there is some actual exclusiveness and meaning behind Very Important Person, funds can be generated to help pay back Bladez' investment into the site and for future hosting of the site, activity is promoted through trying to achieve the post count requirement or by getting involved with competitions, activities and site contribution.

As Mitch said, people got their 5 dollars worth anyways, especially since the webstore has been down for that long we can at least be sure people got at least a good year or two of VIP features (then there are those who had it since it came into place). Might not be all that fair but the funds paid on old DD for VIP did not go towards this site or those running it.

There is an element of having your cake (taking the name, aesthetic,management, methodology, commerce and community of a previously existing site) and eating it (charging again) at play here, but given the odd circumstances and the fact it's a free market, it's perfectly excusable.

I mean I dont mind paying again or donating to DD, I just have to get a little more money before I start donating.
