How to add a picture/GIF to my post

I wanted to know how to do this due to the fact that I need to go to entrance hall, and I wanted to put a picture with my post

Welcome, here take a look at this thread.

But if I were to explain it, you upload your image to an url hosting website like imgur, get the link, then do "[img]*link%20here*[/img]"
then the image should show.

Honestly, I suck at any percise-detail cnc. I can do big picture ones cnc pretty good tho.
