Maybe loosen the requirements to get interz a tiny bit? I know standards have risen considerably since the start of DD but I feel that maybe some people are at interz but people just desperatly try to find SOMETHING wrong with the animation to the point where it has to be perfect.

It's fine if you don't want to do this. But I have one suggestion concerning the rules. I think not allowing users to post on threads that haven't been updated in a week or longer can make any forum go inactive. I've seen forums going really inactive due to that rule. Since there were no threads updated in a while, people couldn't post anymore, and we all know how what happens to a forum where no one can post.

Moreover, new users have a lot of stuff to post. If they can't post in threads which haven't been updated in a week, they won't have much to post, and they will more likely be less motivated to come back.

I'm up to hearing any thoughts on the suggestion.

We have 370 members on this forum and it's still growing. There will always be threads that you can post it, mos threads that haven't been posted in over a week are most likely inactive and don't need any more discussion.
This system has worked on this forum fine so far with some exceptions here and there, and has worked on the old forum for 10 years.
If every single topic in the forum hasn't been posted in over a week, the bump rule will be lifted, but that should never happen.

I honestly think if a topic is bumped with something relevant than it's fine, because it's just resparking a conversation.
If it's some buried inter thread where a new user has commented "cool" or something, that's when shit should be locked.

Yea this sounds about right to me. It's circumstantial.

It's not a system that makes things worse, but I'm sure bumping old threads isn't anything too wrong. Also, is it necessary to lock a thread if someone bumps it after a while of inactivity? I think the user should receive a warning (even if it's a verbal one), instead of the thread being locked.

I'm not complaining or anything, the forum is great. I have nothing against the rule (and I'm fine with it being in action), but I just think it could be a bit better in that department.

How about properly setting up cookies for posting replies?

My giant ass wall of text disappears because my login timed out or some bullshit.

The chatroom works fairly well, it's just that no one uses it. DD has never had a very active chat, apart from when Chim broke the site a year or two back.

Pa's success in chat room led to its fail in the forums. So, be careful.

Yeah. I wouldn't give up a failed chat room for a failed forum.
