Exilious's Thread!~ [ON VACATION]

Postby Exilious » Sat Nov 22, 2014 3:25 am

Welp. I made this. I just practiced basic walking and running for a little, watched videos of people running and waking in slow mo, then eventually made this. I think it's okay. I tried to use easing to convey impact and weight. It's still choppy, pretty short, the beginning 'lunge' was too slow, and the gravity is a bit too 'floaty.'

What do you guys think for my first "animation?" (confused

Not bad, your spacing needs work though. :)

Not bad for a first at all man. A lot better than other peoples first animations. You have potential keep it up!

Thanks guys! And after rewatching the gif for about 30 or so repetitions, I finally realized what LordPivot meant by spacing. I kept the same consistency throughout the whole thing. That was wrong. When he lunged forward, there should have been less spacing. When he fell down, gravity was acting on him, meaning there should have been even less spacing as well. Cool! I learned something new. XD

Hopefully my next try will look better. I'm gonna make it comedic. Everyone loves to laugh and smile. ^~^

Okie, here's another thingy I made. Tried to make him jump successfully. The split was little awkward because he went into it after the jump. I dunno. XD

What do you guys think? :P

Okay, I did this after watching a small tutorial. I didn't copy what it did because it sure as hell didn't explain anything in detail. I just watched the movements and took off from there!

What do you think? I suppose it's not that bad for a low beg such as myself. Needs work though.

All your animations have something ''not so good'' in common. Those are: Stiffness(try to move all the joints on a stick), Spacing(for that there are plenty of tutorials in tut section) and easing for wich there are also plenty of tuts in tut section. I suck at explaining things, so all I can say that you have to check the tutorial section and try to make some animations based on tutorials there.
Oh, and one more thing, try to make your animations longer.

And word of Advice The more time you spend on animating one move the better Result. Both for Judging and Watching.

I removed your signature because it was too big. You can use the same one, just shrink it or put it in a spoiler.
