Are animations always supposed to take so long? [One anim]

Postby Unknow0059 » Fri Oct 27, 2017 12:14 pm

I made the following animation in 24 frames, it took me around 3 hours. It's been years since i've made an animation in Pivot and put effort into it. Are they always supposed to take so long to make?

I didn't plan for it to look like this. I was going to make the character run to and do a backflip on a wall, but i made it shorter once i noticed it was taking too long. I'm not necessarily looking for feedback (although it would be nice) i just want an answer to the question.

Depends on your skills with pivot and what you can and can't easily do. The more you animate, the easier things get to animate, resulting in more quickly made animations.

In pivot resources section I put my most recent project for download. There you will fing a .log file where I recorded my whole progress. You'll see how long it took me. But yeah, animation takes ages even for the fastest animator. You can take up to a week on 100 frames of just roughs (rough guidelines for fullbody)
