Neil's Animation Thread

Postby neilhavkin » Wed Jun 25, 2014 5:31 pm

This is where I will post my awful animations until they get less awful. Since I haven't actually animated in a year, I'm terrible at animating and it might take me a while to get good again. All of my animations are in a 16:9 ratio, my exact dimensions are 800 by 450. I need tips on my basic movements.

That is actually a good animation, it is just a little hard to tell the foot placement due to the loop. Pro tip use higher fps, though... (thumbsup

Jon those were my same thoughts, but we must cut beginners slack.

Bad tip. Animate whatever FPS you feel comfortable animating in. If anything, I'd suggest lowering your FPS, looking at your animation.
I've only got a quick second to comment, but think about how a human body moves, and how it jumps. What kind of movement happens prior to the jump, in order to gain power and momentum to lift itself off of the ground.
Just a quick tip :)

This is awful as you said, but I'm glad you're back. :)

Try to find a realistic, good looking pose before trying to animate it.
