Re: LordPivot's Thread - DDG
Glad you all liked this, guys. I'm aware of what I need to improve on, and would like to do so for Star Wars Part 3. Really glad you liked it. :D

Lord, you are an absolute legend for finishing that. It was so entertaining to watch and long to boot. What I really admire is that you finished off your 3 part series.
I'll point out what I liked about it. The light-sabre battle is easily the best ever animated in Pivot and even that's an understatement. It went on for a very long time and the attack moves were animated brilliantly. What made it even better was the lighting. You used the transparency feature so well here and the colours looked amazing. I can't emphasise enough how much good colour choice can make an animation look so much better.
The movements were also really good. I couldn't spot any flaws which is insane considering the animation's so long. There may have been a few faults here and there, but they weren't noticeable.
To improve I think you could incorporate more 3D angles. I think it's fine how it is right now but just changing up the perspective a little more often will help add some depth to the animation. Or, another simple way of doing this would be to have a multi-plane background. Since animating a light-sabre fight with lots of 3D would be hard, you could have had an object really close in the foreground. Maybe a pipe, a bin or a crate or something? Just something that moves faster than the other things when the camera moves. You could also have some far off things in the background moving slower.
I think if you do that so things just feel a little less flat in places and perhaps incorporate a little more detail (think things like shadows, textures etc) you can make some really mind-blowing stuff.
Anyway, I loved this newest animation from you. Sorry for the late comment by the way. I was too tired to write anything yesterday lol. I hope this makes up for it.

I really do need to start adding some 3D into my animations, they'll start looking flat in my eyes too soon enough. XD
Thanks for taking the time for that comment. :D
