LordPivot's Thread - Stalactitious - Fallen

Postby Lord » Sat Apr 12, 2014 12:23 pm

Hi person!
I'm LordPivot. I joined Darkdemon/Animator.net around March 2013 though I didn't get active there until maybe May or June. I've improved quite a bit since then. When TheDarkdemon was opened I was one of the first 10 to join. I joined PA on the 18th of October 2014, and Hyuns Dojo somewhere during the summer of 2015. I became Intermediate back in January of 2015.

You should make your movements less stiff, after that you're good to go :D

Keep it up!

That was really good! The main thing I saw, is that when the grey stick is reacting, he reaaaalllyy overreacted. That kick didn't look strong enough to make him flail like that. really great tho man!

If you're referring to the end of the animation when the black stick just stops moving after he brings his hands to his sides, I either got lazy or I thought that it wouldn't be necessary to keep him moving around. I now think that it would've looked better if I did keep him moving around.

I was studying an animation of Senzos and I couldn't make it look different to his without ruining the animation.

Nope I mean the whole animation but it's not that bad maybe it's just me I always animate my animations very boneless like.

Flow:
Easing:
Smoothness:
Poses:
Phyiscs:
Did I tick all the boxes?

I see a massive improvement in this animation. I'd like to see a bit more from you. I thought your BBODDIV was one of the best entries by the way. :)

Energy given with a kick to the victim couldn't throw the gray stick like that, with the legs to up.
While kicking you should've moved black stick a bit to the opposite of the gray one, because every action been done have it's reaction on a doer. In your animation it seems your black stick has 200 kg mass or like that.
Moreover, while kick, turn please the torso of kicker on a 70 degrees angle.

Stiffness/smoothness balance and so as the timing is implemented great, I can see big improvements since I saw your animations at the last time.
I love a bit of shakiness in the segments, that gives some realism to a movements. But Rank Team needs everything to be perfect... I disagree with that point.
Inertia has been done well.
It was pleasant to watch.

Okay lets see here, not to bad of an animation. You were able to keep all limbs moving in coexisting matter that made the animation okay. Heck I was impressed on the stability you were able to maintain on the black guy. I know for I have problem keeping the head in good matter of location, but you made it feel like it was center origin and kept it smooth and for a fair bit I feel maybe it didn't move at all( in angle wise). The 3D of effect of him doing a spinning kick was quite well done and really smooth.

The problem I have is the over wobbly feel on the grey guy. I feel like i'm watching noodles squiggle back and forth for which it's too loose. There was no shown effect of the hits that he was taken and I felt like I was watching the scene in Kung Fu Master when the musicians fight the husband. You pretty much just let his body absorb the hits like a jello and it really hinder the power of the hits. Then there's that awkward forearm hit to the hit after the jab. It was dampened and just looked like a an odd movement to use to halt the grey guy or what ever he was doing. Then the long drawn out time between the forearm hit and spin kick. When you started into the spin kick it was meh. For fact I feel maybe his feet should of been facing the other way since from the overall spin he kicked with this right leg.

Overall work on toning down the spaghetti movements and give some lengthy animations.
