Make like 2 more animations like you just added, then ask to move up to intermediate Specter :)

Honestly, I suck at any percise-detail cnc. I can do big picture ones cnc pretty good tho.

It flowed rather nicely ! I love how you make the "camera" adjust throughout the animation . Although the back movements were little and the foot placement on the run was kinda "slippery" . you pulled it off really well .

low inters IMO

The spin on the diver is dope. I would suggest using more particles with the water splash. The stick was smooth throughout the animation. May I ask what FPS you use?

Thanks man! I'm not great with effects and didnt want to bog it down with a lot of bad looking particles. I animate at 18fps

Definitely intermediate. Very nice animations bro. I just felt like the stick figure was engulfed in the water quickly but otherwise jesus christ, you have some godlike spacing. Good luck on getting moved up soon.

Make another animation, with slight, slight better quality of the latest non-PP related one. And i can definitely say you should be deemed intermediate. Make it long so it's easier to grade (thumbsup

Re: The Specter:: Longer

Postby The Specter » Wed Jun 18, 2014 1:38 am

Update, I know there are still some flaws in it but I leave for Japan tomorrow, and I'm not going to be motivated to do this when I get back, Thanks Caleb for all of your input on how to make it better... Wish I could have fixed the build up for you

Anyways Id rather post it now rather than later.

That pink animation is beautiful only problem would be the second half after the slide looks a little too quickly paced.

On a side note, the run in the start of the animation for *anon* section is glorious and I was wondering if you have a .piv of it so I can learn :D

Your so close to inter it's silly, all your base foundation is there.

Honestly your poses are pretty much perfect but I think the spacing could be toned down in parts of the animation where the poses are less dynamic to give it a more fluid look. Definitely don't slow it all down though because it's very stylistic.

On top of that i'de like to see you grasp momentum a little better, not just for easing either. There are some part of the animation where the environment didn't have a noticeable effect on the bass due to the spacing being a little over consistent, don't be afraid to tone things down briefly for things like landings ect because it will show a lot more character.

There is only a few complaints that i have here. One of them being that in the beginning, when he jumps off of the block he lands and not much reaction is issued for that much of a fall. You should make him have more of a reaction next time and see if that makes it go a bit better.
Next "flaw" that i see is the flips that the stick does. There's not much wrong with it but the way the stick is posed looks strange to me, it's just my opinion. Nextly, is the head going down before the jump. The head goes down too fast. It should "pop" up when the stick goes for the jump, but it goes for too little frames on the way down (Could just be the spacing).
