What's up kids, my name is Elipter and I come from the lands of Hyuns Dojo. I really wanted to learn Pivot after primarily using Flash for about 6 months as I thought it'd be useful in getting to know some of the concepts that I struggle with like smaller movements and weight and a whole bunch of other stuff, and because it was recommended to me by Flame (dunno whether you guys have heard of him) and with it seeming like a lovely little place, I thought I'd join and say hello. I'm loving the site so far! :)

Oh, and I've already made a post in the Flash Entrance Hall section if you guys want to see some of my shit. I'll try and update whenever I make something.

I'll probably make one in the Pivot section too when I get my footing in the program.

Anyway, it's a pleasure to be here and I hope I'll meet some wonderful new people while I'm here and learn a bit more too.

Thanks <3

Hey Elipter it's great to see someone from Hyun's Dojo come here. How interesting that you're going to learn Pivot after Flash. With lots of people they tend to use Pivot first before moving onto Flash.

Pivot is incredibly useful for movements. Since you're only clicking and dragging the nodes of the stick-figure, the movements are a huge focus. Drawing skill won't help cover up anything and the heavy spacing or tweening style doesn't quite work with Pivot. It gets you to learn the basics through doing it frame by frame, which is the best method in my opinion. Due to these things you should be able to learn how to animate weight and other things quite well. :)

I will check your Flash thread when I find the time. Welcome to the site. :)
