LordPivot's Factory - 1960's Ford Mustang Fastback

Postby Lord » Sun Oct 12, 2014 4:08 pm

Hello,
In this shop, I'm going to be making vehicles from the end of the 19th century to the Modern Era to sci-fi or futuristic. I might even have a few specials along the way.
I specialise mostly in Military vehicles but am happy to make other vehicles too.
Please, use the sprites in whatever way you'd like, just be sure to give me credit for their use, or at least don't take credit for their use.
Thanks.

pre WW1 (1900-1914)
Ships
- British -
Spoiler:
HMS Dreadnought
It was technically the first battleship to ever be made, though back then it was called a dreadnought. It rendered nearly every ship made before it obsolete. It was the first ship to be armed only with 12in guns and a speed of 21 knots. It was sent to reserve in 1919 and scrapped two years later.

WW1 era (1914-1918)
Tanks
- British -
Mk.V
Spoiler:
Simple thing to do, an hour to make. There's no wheels on it so there's less hassle. Only one cannon though, with no machine guns. Enjoy

Spoiler:
Looks like I'm getting faster at this, 1.5 hours done the job. Enjoy.

SU-14-1
Spoiler:
Prototype Soviet heavy self-propelled gun. Work began on it in 1933. Two prototypes were built, both of which had extra armour added to them and redesignated the SU-14-2 in 1940 in the defense of Moscow. Also my first artillery vehicle, enjoy.

KV-5
Spoiler:
A cancelled project for a super heavy tank. Progress halted when Leningrad came under siege, no prototype was ever built. Hope you like it, enjoy.

KV-1
Spoiler:
2 hours, the image I was referencing from was pretty detailed, and large.

IS-3
Spoiler:
Though technically a Cold War tank, the IS-3 was created to battle Nazi German tanks in WW2. It was developed in 1945 with only a few tanks of its class being made due to the demand for main battle tanks in the Cold War instead of heavy tanks. This is a remake of the previous IS-3 in 115Pivots and I's WW2 arms and vehicles pack. I felt I didn't try hard enough on it and wanted to re-try it. I salvaged the large wheel from the previous tank. Enjoy.
Image
http://www.filz.us/files/8f6cea4a/9cf/IS-3.zip

- US -
M4 Sherman
Spoiler:
Easy enough one to do, took a little more than an hour. Had some troubles with the turret and whatnot but that's all fixed. Enjoy.
Image

T95 Heavy Tank Destroyer
Spoiler:
The American Heavy Tank Destroyer was conceived in Spring 1945 but proved too late to be usable for WW2, it was originally meant to be used to break through the Siegfried Line but then was later proposed as a participant of the invasion of the Japanese mainland. 2 prototypes were built, 1 destroyed by engine fire in trials and the other was lost in a field in Virginia until 1974!
Hope you like this one, enjoy.

- British -
Comet
Spoiler:
This one took about 2 hours. I was trying out a new technique that I don't think worked...
enjoy.
Image
http://www.filz.us/files/a98ad525/373/Comet.zip

A39 Tortoise
Spoiler:
Work started on it in 1944 and only 6 prototypes were made of the vehicle. The Allies needed tanks capable of breaking through the Siegfried Line, this was one of the tanks proposed. It was reliable as a good gun platform but was far too hard to transport and agonisingly slow at 6km/h
off road. Enjoy.
Image
http://www.filz.us/files/bc4d449f/364/A39_Tortoise.zip

TOG II*
Spoiler:
The TOG II* was created in case Northern France turned into a battlefield of trenches of mud. This never happened, although the vehicle did undergo successful trials in May 1943. Only 1 prototype exists. Enjoy.
Image
http://www.filz.us/files/e34de904/cf4/piv.zip

-German-
Sturer Emil
Spoiler:
The Nazi 'Self Propelled Anti Tank' gun had two prototypes built, one being destroyed in the eastern front and the other in a museum.
This was a fun one to do too, enjoy.
Image
http://www.filz.us/files/469e5b55/968/Sturer_Emil.zip

Waffenträger auf E-100
Spoiler:
This tank is actually completely fictional, apart from the fact that the cannon is mounted on the E-100's chassis. The cannon, which I should mention, is a 15cm anti-air cannon! I had fun making this and I hope you enjoy using this.
Image
http://www.filz.us/files/4b000e87/e50/WT_auf_E-100.zip

Panzerkampfwagen E-100
Spoiler:
Nazi super heavy tank of WW2, the heaviest of the Entwicklung series of vehicles and a parallel development to the Maus.
1 partial prototype was complete by the time the Allies found it in 1945. Enjoy.
Image
http://www.filz.us/files/b2fdefd7/199/E-100.zip

Jagdpanzer E-100
Spoiler:
In May 9, 1944 Krupp was asked to submit proposals for a super-heavy tank destroyer, mounting either of the 15 cm or 17 cm guns. Krupp first submitted a variant of the Maus, the second proposal was made on Adler's Panzerkampfwagen E-100. The E-100 was better than the Maus. Therefore, Porsche decided to offer Krupp the development of a super-heavy tank destroyer on the E-100. Before development could even start, Adolf Hitler ordered that the development on super-heavy tanks were to be discontinued. This is truely some monster in World of Tanks, hope you enjoy using it, and please give credit. ;)

Trucks
- American -
GMC CCKW - 'Deuce and a half'
Spoiler:
Used widespread by the allies in WW2 to transport goods, weapons and ammunition to allied troops after the 1944 invasion of Normandy, D-day. Hope you likey. :D Only the demo this time, copying and pasting the vehicle from the demo is easier than assembling it yourself. :)
Image
http://filz.us/2xHT

Submarines
- Nazi -
VII U-boat
Spoiler:
Very easy to make, 20 mins done this. There were loads of U-boats to choose from but chose this one because it was most used.
Originally, it was made in the year 1939 I think, and was decomissioned in 1970.
I think it's fairly obvious where the torpedoes come out from, but if you're not sure, it's the dark short area at the bottom-front of the boat. I was going to not include a torpedo but then I just made one anyway and added it along.
Enjoy.
Image
http://www.filz.us/files/ce47721a/13f/Nazi_U-boat.zip

Battleships
- Nazi -
Bismarck
Spoiler:
The pride of the Nazi fleet when it was commisioned in the fall of 1940, this monstrous battleship destroyed the British Navy's crown jewel, the HMS Hood, shortly before being destroyed in the North Atlantic in May 1941 under 4 ships' fire.
This took about 1 hour and a bit to do, and I was pretty surprised by the speed I could do this at myself. :)
Use it as you wish and remember to give credit. Enjoy. :D
Image
http://www.filz.us/files/f02e7d7b/e1e/N ... smarck.zip

- Japanese -
Yamato
Spoiler:
And on the 8th of August 1940, the nation of the Rising Sun commisioned the largest battleship ever known to history. A quarter of a kilometer long, this ship was a fearsome advasery to it's opponents. It was sunk on the 7th April 1945 off Okinawa but will forever be remembered by history.
Image
http://www.filz.us/files/cb33e828/ca0/B ... Yamato.zip

- Soviet -
Stalin
Spoiler:
Developed from 1938-1940, these ships would have rivalled the Japanese Yamato battleship... if they had been built. Only 4 hulls of the 16 ships intended were ever made.
This took about 1 hour to make and I think it's the most impressive out of all the ships I've made so far. Enjoy.
Image

- American -
Missouri
Spoiler:
The Iowa-class battleships were a class of fast battleships ordered by the United States Navy in 1939 and 1940 to escort the Fast Carrier Task Forces that would operate in the Pacific Theater of World War II. Four were completed; two more were laid down but canceled at war's end and scrapped. Between the mid-1940s and the early 1990s, the Iowa-class battleships fought in four major U.S. wars. In World War II, they defended aircraft carriers and shelled Japanese positions. During the Korean War, the battleships provided seaborne artillery support for United Nations forces fighting North Korea, and in 1968, New Jersey shelled Viet Cong and Vietnam People's Army forces in the Vietnam War. All four were reactivated and armed with missiles during the 1980s as part of the 600-ship Navy initiative; during Operation Desert Storm in 1991, Missouri and Wisconsin fired missiles and 16-inch (406 mm) guns at Iraqi targets. Ultimately, all four ships were stricken from the Naval Vessel Register and released for donation to non-profit organizations. With the transfer of Iowa in 2012, all four are part of various non-profit maritime museums across the U.S. Enjoy. ;)

Stk file. The Fletcher class destroyers were used during WW2 with 175 being commissioned. It had a top speed of 38 knots and and an armament of five 5" guns along with 10 21" torpedoes. They were used almost exclusively in the Pacific theatre of war, sinking 29 Japanese submarines. 3 remain in museums in the US and 1 in Greece. Enjoy. ;)

Developed in the early 1970's, it uses a 30mm Avenger Rotary Cannon, the heaviest ever used on an aircraft. I was nicknamed the 'Warthog' or 'Hog' due to its rather ugly appearance. It has a top speed of 706km/hr and are reckoned to be an essential to the US Air Force for the attack of tanks and other land targets.

Modern Era (1991-)
Patrol Vessels
- Ireland -
Lé Samuel Beckett
Spoiler:
I done a bit a searching and found the wiki of Irelands Navy.
I looked around there and found a few nice ships, I thought I could make one for the craic. I tried searching for pictures of this particular ship from the side but couldn't find any perfect ones so I had to make do with one that was kind of from the side. Here's one of the many images of the ship.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:L%C3% ... eckett.jpg
Now, this was quite tedious, I've never done anything like this up until now, so I shrunk the back and enlarged the front of the image I was drawing from.

Do you think I should take the WARPIG off the cannon? If anyone is planning to use multiple tanks in one scene they'll all be the same tank, literally.

Maybe make multiple canons with different pieces of text for each, like WARPIG, TITAN, STEAMROLLER, GET SUM, etc and release a pack full of interchangeable canons? I dunno.

Yeah, should probably do that.
I was originally going to have nothing on the cannon but then I realised it was missing that characteristic, so I added it in.
I've started on the Apache helicopter aswell. I hope to have it up tomorrow.

Turns out the whole assembly instructions thing is unneccesary. I remembered that you can just copy and paste a frame from one animation to another. So why the need for assembly instructions?

Also, could I have some more comments on the Apache please.

Mother of GOD! These are great! I'll definitely be using these in future animations (already sprung up some ideas).

What I noticed at first when I got the Abrams tank is that the tracks don't have a point to connect to and are just free-floating. I didn't quite get the reason for this, but I just thought it might be okay to be able to attach it to a place on the sprite. I dunno, it just bothered me a little, but I'm not complaining. It still looks really awesome.

In regards to the Apache, it's really cool. The only thing I noticed was that you had to manually turn every blade on the tail-end of the helicopter for it to move. I was thinking that instead of doing that, which would probably get a bit tedious after a couple frames, you could instead merge two of them and have the singular unit's main handle at the middle of them with a pivoting point at the end of one of the blades. Then you could alter the helicopter to have a pivot point on where the blades are to connect to the helicopter itself, so then instead of turning every blade individually with the stretch tool, you'd have only two, fully rotating units to control, plus it'd be easier to make the blades turn. It probably doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but I could fix that up for you if you want. You do whatever you want.

Also, regarding the Humvee, I actually love the jittery movement of the tires. It really gives off a rugged, hardcore sort of vibe to see the wheels bounce a bit on their axels. After all, it'd make it even more fun to animate rocky or bumpy desert terrain. All in all, great stuff, and I can't wait to see more.
