.stks with color?

Ive seen many .stks that ive downloaded that have like different colors into one thing. How do I do this for me I can only change the color of the whole thing, are they using sprites? If so how do I do this magic..
Sorry if this is stupid im new to Pivot.
Also btw im using Pivot 4 if that changes anything

Just make things that you want to be separate colors as separate sticks, and then use the join tool to connect them. The multicolor sticks that you are seeing are actual single frames of animation, made of of several sticks that you can then copy and paste to your animation.
