[Question] When should I make a thread?

Postby Elipter » Thu Dec 24, 2015 11:33 am

Hey all,
I want to make a thread, but I don't have many animations on pivot to show off yet so I was wondering what the criteria was... Do I have to have a bunch of animations to post one?
I bring this up because I'm pretty new to Pivot and didn't think you guys would want to see shitty 2 second tests lol.

Thanks!

Well its really all up to you. But if you have any animations not in pivot you can post those also. But whether your animations are "shitty" or not you can post them.

No required number of animations, just go ahead when you feel like it.

I think Ray summed it up well. There really isn't any specific criteria needed when making a thread. Some people make their first thread with just a 2 second animation. If you want to be judge based on those 2 second tests, then you can post them and we'll do our best to give you advice on how to improve. But if you're looking to climb the ranks, then posting a larger, more well thought out project will impress people and get you moved up faster. It will also make it easier for us to give you advice since we'll have more to critique on and we'll be able to see what you are really capable of.

The main purpose of threads is to archive your animations and to record your progress. It doesn't matter how many animations your thread may have now, as ultimately it'll have a large amount of animations. After all, a million drops makes a river, right? lol

Maybe if you had a couple of animations that were subpar compared to other animations of yours, you could post them in the Freestlye section.

It doesn't even matter if you thread subpar animations as a beginner. It's not like you can get moved down from beginner, lol
