Pretty much anything. Could be Eminem, Linkin Park, Blink, whatever I feel like listening to at the time

Either something nice and peaceful like Nujabes, Asobi Seksu, Kinoko Teikoku, DJ Okawari, or Tatuki Seksu; super, super weeaboo things like full versions of anime OP/ED's; or instrumentals.

never understood why people need music to listen to when animating. I don't like most music, especially songs about love and relationships, they do my head in.

We listen to it so we don't feel time when animting. An ideal way to kill boredom. And I agree with the dislike of love songs. I consider them as worthless comercial songs. To stay relavant to the thread, I'll add sonic osts to the list. AND soundclown whenever I'm doing something very silly.

Depends on my mood really
If I just want to animate something super casual then I go for Alternative/Pop Rock such as -
Cage the Elephant, Matt & Kim, Arctic Monkeys, Beck, Bears! Bears! Bears!, Death Cab For Cutie, FMLYBND, Holy Fuck, The XX, Kings of Leon, Keane, etc.
If I want to try and actually finish something I usually listen to Trip-Hop, Funkstep, Expirementalo Hip-Hop such as -
FlyLo, SpazzKid, Keats Collectives, Pretty Lights, Gramatik, ProleteR, etc.
And if I am feeling a bit dark I listen to Neurofunk/Techstep or anything else that feels a bit dark such as -
Venetian Snares, Freqax, Limewax, Evol Intent, iDOLEAST, Katharsys, Receptor, Audio, etc.
so ye

That should be enough for now. Nothing but instrumentals, and such for the most part.

crawwwwwwwwwwwwling in my skin.

I actually don't really have songs I pick up to listen specifically, I just listen anything that is on my playlist. Although I suppose that's not so effective considering how often I animate.

No songs for me. It's best to use it as a last resort if you need inspiration or you get too dependent on it.

I'll listen to pretty much anything, don't really have a certain genre I prefer. I have to start the music before I start animating though or It'll just be silence with clicking sounds.
