well, i'm not a veggie, i don't plan to be. i don't see how not eating meat means that pigs aren't gonna get fucked etc. i wholeheartedly agree that the treatment of animals in that video is disgusting however, so we should change that. as a whole, humans are selfish as fuck. the more humans there are, the less of everything else there is.
however, couple of things. first off, the video is outdated, laws and such may have been passed which made some of those things illegal. second, the video is made by PETA, which means it's incredibly biased, probably even for it's time it chose worse case scenarios. thirdly, humans are omnivores, it's unhealthy not to eat meat. when it said (to paraphrase) 'don't eat meat, it's for your health', that's dumb as fuck, it's healthy to eat meat.
that said, the treatment of animals in this video is disgusting, and us as a family tries only to buy local produce and free range stuff. but that doesn't mean we shouldn't eat meat. it just means that humanity needs to recognise these animals as things that can feel and such, and stop treating them like machines.
