Stick Nodes - Mobile stickfigure anim app (New text feature)

Postby Ralph » Tue Aug 19, 2014 12:10 pm

Hey guys, got some news. You'll never guess.

Yeah, my app Stick Nodes is finally done, out of beta, and released! Just a quick thanks to everyone who tried out the beta and helped me find bugs and tweaks to make, it definitely helped.

You can get more information and screenshots from the Google Play / App Store listings:

Can't wait to see what the DarkDemon community comes up with, especially with the tweening assist, post some stuff below (or on the official Facebook page or official Google+ page).

Oh, and if you like the app, please don't forget to give a quick rating - it really, really helps to get some ratings on the initial release week - appreciate it!

Alright, enough nonsense, post some animations below!

Really wish I had a device to play it. Looks like a great program! Is there any chance of it coming out on IoS?

@LordPivot
Nice, things should go a lot smoother now that you'll actually be able to export the animations now ;)

@luka, @Gary
The plan was this - to release the app on Android first (I have Android devices and paid the one-time $25 fee) and see how it was received. If it went well, then I'd work on getting the iOS post done (I'd need an Apple device or two to test with as well as pay the annual $99 fee).

Either way, I think an iOS version will be released, hopefully sooner rather than later. My first priorities are to watch out for any bugs and make some performance tweaks in the next few updates. Once things seem stable, iOS time.

really wish i had the proper device to use it. could be pretty nice to dick around with. if you start to get some quality animations you could use them an compile them as advertisement.

@-luka
Thanks. As for .pivs, sorry, no support for them, just .stk files. It's a possibility in a distant future update, though.

@Peebles
Just curious, you talking about an iOS version? And yeah, a good idea using user-created animations to advertise. Here's something a friend made while the app was in its beta stage:

By the way guys, not to be annoying, but if you like the app even a tiny bit, I'd really, really appreciate the time you take to give a quick rating (on the Google Play store) - it really helps. Thanks!

Not to be a bastard, but I just wanted to bump up this topic to get a little more spotlight on the app.

It's been about a month since release. Stick Nodes is doing really, really great on all Android markets. Right now it has 81 ratings with a 4.3 average and is approaching 2,000 total installs (on Google Play).

Since my last post here there have been many updates - mostly for bug fixes and tweaks, but there has been a new feature added - Panning Mode. When panning mode is on, users can move all stickfigures on the current frame just by dragging.

If you haven't been keeping up with the development either on my Twitter or the main site, I actually have a Macbook on the way which means I can finally begin porting the IOS version this weekend!

Here are all of the places it's currently available:

Can't wait to get the IOS version out, looking forward to it! Also, any feature requests - leave them here!

Yeah, but it doesn't have tweening (yet), people will be sooo upset about it.

JOKING, i hope that animation awareness in general will raise with this.

Thanks, appreciate it! We'll see (smile

@Anton
Yeah, tweening is pretty sweet. Would really love to see it in Pivot, I believe Peter mentioned it being a work in progress.
