I think this has been posted on the old DarkDemon before, but this is more than worth it to watch again. Absolutely stunning, I really wish I could draw and animate that well. Or do anything as well as this, for that matter.

His name is Ryan Woodward. I'm not sure about his fame, but he did some baseball animation too, I believe.
