We lost two weeks of posts. Man that sucks and shit happens. We should have been keeping more back ups and for the first few months I was creating them every other day, until I realized doing it so often wasn't necessary because the site never went down. If it did for 5 minutes it was for scheduled maintenance and upgrades. Mistakes were made and we failed to have a more recent back up than 2 weeks ago, and knowing this can happen I'll be making back ups daily. Our hosting provider has a 100% uptime guarantee along with a refund policy that should get us 80% of what we paid for this months hosting, which means we'll have more funds for another month of hosting.

It's unfortunate this happened and I'll take part of the blame for not keeping a more recent back up. You can never be 100% sure things like this won't happen unless you dish out a ton of money on what could be a hosting a provider that uses the same equipment where shit fails, but your paying more money for it. Or you can just purchase the equipment to host it yourself if you have the money. We haven't had an issue with this provider until now and considering their guarantee I think we benefited from this.

Juke said: Thedarkdemon.com is currently down due to a hard drive failure. It could take 2-4 days for it to be back up as they are moving it over to a new hard drive a long with ever other server on the failed hard drive. Sorry for the inconvenience guys.

Not another hard drive failure no. We were just on a vps that was being hosted for a few days so we are now on another vps for the next 2 weeks. Raymond will then set up our proper server and move us over to our new vps where we should be good for the next year.
