What do you do while you animate?

If you're a creep with a long enough attention span to just animate, then gtfo of this thread.

Since animation is often a lot of tedious and brainless grinding, it's important to have something to do or listen to while you animate. I usually listen to podcasts or comedians in the background so that I have something to think about in the unoccupied part of my brain. For more challenging stuff, I might just listen to music so I can focus. What kinds of stuff do you guys do while you animate to hold off the boredom?

I just listen to music, rock mostly. :)

if it's something complex that I need to animate or needs some extra work, I stop music to focus on what I'm doing. If it's something that requires half a brain such as particles, I turn on music. Otherwise, it goes like this:
Open Pivot>minimize windows>check DD's new posts>go back to pivot>minimize>checkDD>check facebook>go back to pivot>minimize> check DD>chat for an hour> go back to pivot>actually animate>rinse and repeat.

I either listened to some Bonobo or some random metal that was on my frontpage on youtube.

I also talked to people on Skype.

Psychedelic music mostly, if it's too complicated or has too much of a presence I get distracted. I get distracted really easily. Classical also works, some metal, some electronica, no Hip-hop though sadly.

I usually listen to DnB mixes, particularly Liquid DnB. It has a steady tempo that helps me relax and doesn't take my attention away from what I'm doing.

I listen to Nujabes usually. Also chat with a bunch of people, but I can't go in voice chats or I'll just end up browsing the web and talking about stupid shit.

This, although these days it's CAD not animating but same applies. That said mixes from the past ~18 months are pure shit. Songs now just seem to be a generic tune with some pathetic female voice over the top singing about some bullshit. Really frustrating to listen to after a while!

Funny how countless hours are invested and a whole community is built around a hobby that from the replies, seems to be a mind-numbing tedious experience that requires a whole manner of other media to make it bearable. I know, I know - all about the end result, but still.

Anyways, when I did animate I always had chill/electro music on or a movie/tv show playing in the background. Same goes with my uni study sessions.
