Well if that's all your diet consists of, yeah. You should probably consider solid sustenance.

I've never had rum, or any alcohol for that matter, but wouldn't adding water just make it more bland?

I'm gonna guess he doesn't actually mix the two.

If you don't mix your hard liquor with water you're asking for a hangover. Fifty/fifty rum and water makes it chuggable as well.

Or grow a pair and chug it pure.

I learned the other day that if you eat something really hot/spicy, take a shot of alcohol and swish it around your mouth. The stronger it is, the better. You don't even have to swallow it, you can spit it out, but it's supposed to help reduce the burning.

Did you actually try that Raymond? Because it sounds like that would make it worse.

Capsaicin is the thing in food which makes it spicy, and capsaicin dissolves in fat, oil, and alcohol, but not water. Which is why water only makes it worse because it helps spread it to other areas of the mouth. I guess that would also explain why milk helps, since it has a lot of fat in it. I've never tried using alcohol though. Someone should eat a ghost pepper and let us know how that goes.

I can confirm that milk, yogurt or bread works excellent. But they didn't mention booze in science class. I've never noticed beer calming down the spice, but that might have something to do with the carbon dioxide...
