BBC's Robot Wars is coming back, and I'm on it!

Hey guys.

UK/EU members older than ~15 will almost certainly remember Robot Wars. It was a show about massive homemade radio controlled fighting machines battling in a purpose built arena. It was the shit. It went off the air after 7 series (and 2 side-series) back in 2003, with casual re-runs ever since.

It's back for 2016. They just released the first full trailer:

Fun fact: that low sleek black machine in the thumbnail? That's my robot. :D

Some of you may recall how I gradually turned away from animation and DD several years ago, and got involved with combat robotics. Well, this happened. I spent the first 8 weeks of 2016 designing and building a 110kg fighting robot.

I just wanted to share because... well it's exciting as fuck and I want to spam everyone. Talk about dreams man, I started watching Robot Wars when I was 4 years old!

edit: and for the US guys, yes I know about Battlebots. I know 80% of the competitors on that. I'm going to try and get on BB for 2017. Los Angeles pls.

Congrats Ellis! I can tell this kind of thing means a lot to you. Your parents look extremely proud and supportive too, which is great! It's always nice hearing successful things like this. It's amazing you learned everything for youtube tutorials. All that hard work paid off. (thumbsup
