help i have no idea what im doing

also added soundcloud bbcode because fuck

Nice work. I liked listening to it. Mainly because I recognized Renai Circulation.

Also being able to embed soundcloud is going to be useful.

As for music production, I usually only use Ableton and a piano VST called Ivory. I'm pretty lazy so I don't do anything fancy. I just plug my digital piano in through midi and improvise on the spot and sometimes overlay other instruments, but most of my stuff is pretty simple. Ivory is probably the best piano VST I've ever used though. It's like 13gb but it's the most realistic one I've heard so far.

Haven't worked on anything in a while, but I made this about a month ago

That wasn't all that bad, Alca. I just think you should add more atmosphere or perhaps a more clear piano over it might help. It just feels like it's missing something is all.

It's a distorter except you just take off the distortion so it only lifts the volume

Also working on this thingy here if anyone wants to critique it

don't do that unless you a)want a song with the exact same volume all the way through or b) want layers of sound to be dipping in and out of the mix. both of those things are terrible and that tip is not good

But... but it sounds good!

Any alternatives? Should I do this to the individual tracks?

Sorry, new to mastering.

honestly what i do is just keep my master track free of anything so that i'm constantly trying to make everything clean and make sure things don't go above 0dB, then when that's done I put a limiter on the master track at 0dB to ensure nothing breaks that threshold

i'm not the best at music but the way i see it it's a lot better than flat-out brickwalling

Just bought a mini production keyboard and got FL Studio, can anyone recommend a good pair of headphones for beat making/music production?

Any pair of closed, over-ear studio monitors will do you well.

Actually, I make music. I've been doing music for about a year now and have seen lots of improvement in myself. I prefer music making over animation because it's something I had a natural affinity for. I just started doing animation as another side hobby. I normally post all my music to http://www.newgrounds.com

It's a great website where all the content is made by everyday ordinary people. if you're a fan of Fancy Pants Adventures, you'll find the creator of it on there! Pretty cool, eh? My name on newgrounds is Exilious, so you can find me there at http://www.exilious.newgrounds.com

Check out my music, don't check out my music, I really don't care. XD If you do check it out, leave a review (You'll have to sign up for the website though X3) or just come back here and tell me what you think, I appreciate feedback. I don't post music often because I don't make music often. I've recently been having a hard time coming up with something, but I do plan to release a Christmas track if I can. ^~^

My latest song is Cloud Nine, a remix of a song I like a lot. I'll post it below.

http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/592424

You can also find me on Soundcloud! I think my name on there is Dr. E. If not, try Exilious. Dr. E is my "DJ" name. XD
