Damn Nature, You Scary!

Postby Caleb » Thu Nov 13, 2014 12:01 pm

So today I learned of a wasp that lives in the dessert. When it has to lay eggs, the only place moist enough is inside the body of another creature. They usually put these parasitic eggs in spiders and by the time they hatch, it's killed the spider. They then proceed to eat the rest as food. Oh well, at least they kill spiders. I can post the GIF of the fight between a mother wasp and a spider if people are interested.

Post some fucked up things of nature you heard of.

I'd like to see the Wasp VS Spider showdown.

But yeah, parasites are the one thing that can still legitimately creep me out. I can handle mosquitos, but anything that goes under the skin is a definite no-go for me. I'm cool with pictures of people that had gotten curbstomped or twisted their limbs in some fucked up way. But a picture of a body with maggots in, fuck that.

That video was actually pretty cool, though I can't help but feel kind of bad for the spider.

But eh, survival of the fittest.

As long as the fittest aren't spiders.

Speaking of the scary motherfuckers, I touched this one at the place I used to go to get high with friends a lot.

He looked even scarier in real life. Took me a fucking century before I broke the fear barrier and actually touched him.
