MMPI-2

Postby Grams » Mon Nov 17, 2014 4:03 pm

Short for Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory, this test essentially makes assumptions of your personality based on an excess of True or False questions. It's a fairly standard test in the psychology field and is notable for its accuracy. It's a little over 600 questions, but there's a shorter version with about 360 questions.
Here: http://www.liquidccd.com/mmpi2.htm

I'm a psych major, so this stuff is pretty interesting to me. If you want, share your key results in the thread here. You may have to find some sort of guide to interpret the conclusive data, as it can be a little tricky. I figured out the layout for the most part, so feel free to ask if you're having trouble. Have fun.

Re: MMPI-2

Tried it, took about 35 mins on the short form. Looked through the results, didn't make a whole lot of sense, seen a different thing above the results, I wondered if it would make it any clearer, I clicked on it, just some advertisement, went back ... and my results were gone

Oh well. :(

I am indeed possessed by spirits frequently.

Also, were you looking at raw score or T-score? Raw score is basically how many questions you answered "positively" (agreeable to the topic at hand). Doesn't mean much. T-Score is the accurate representation of each section. So, if you get a 50 in Schizophrenia, it means your "schizoid lifestyle" is about average or on par with the rest of society. This might help with T-Scores: http://www.mindfithypnosis.com/mmpi-2-scoring
I got a 91 in Schizophrenia, so yay I guess.

Spent a shitton of time making this test, but I still don't know what it means. I'm guessing it says that I'm slightly depressed or something.

There aren't really any major outliers. It suggests you're extroverted for the most part, but primarily passive in social interaction. Basically, you enjoy being with people, but you may withdraw from conversation out of choice, not from being "anti-social". You don't worry too much and are fairly relaxed, but you may have trouble falling/staying asleep. Impulse-control could be an issue as well as authority figures e.g. cops. You're pretty content for the most part. And yeah, could be slightly depressed at times. You also could just be generally lethargic or maybe even pessimistic about certain topics. If it is slight depression, it would typically not be from external forces.

Just fyi, this isn't what I personally think. Just reading what the conclusion gives me. I'm not a psychologist nor do I claim to be. I don't have the proper credentials to give a professional "diagnosis". So, although I have a decent general idea of the results, you should still take all of this with a grain of salt. This test isn't perfect. All I can do is make inferences from the table. But, if it's accurate, goody.

Not entirely sure what all this means, but under all this there was something giving indication that I have symptoms of Depression, when I don't, at all. (confused
Could have an analysis Yankee? (wink

I'll try my best.

Actually, the results state that you are not very depressed, but in fact happier than the average individual. However, you may have difficulty adapting or adhering to change, significant or not. You probably prefer fantasized "realms" or "universes" over reality and daydream quite a bit. You are slightly introverted, but this is not to say you are anti-social. Fairly compliant and not too impulsive. You may have a leniency towards indifference on the subject of morality. This usually gives you a neutral or objective standpoint in discussion. However, you can be belittling or harsh to yourself if a mistake is made within debate/morality/etc.

There was something else, but I forgot cause 2dumb and I don't want to go through that clusterfuck of info again.

Thanks, kind of explains me pretty well for the most part, if I look from another persons shoes. How did you get that out of all those numbers? :\

Thanks man, most of it seemed pretty accurate, so you probably did a good job.

The only thing that isn't true is the sleeping part, I have more trouble waking up. (:P
