It's clearly not black or gold, and thinking it's white is just retarded. The actual color of the dress may be something else, but in this picture it's brown and blue. This is according to the color picker in Photoshop CS5, so if you think I'm wrong take it up with Adobe.

^Have you ever tried making a picture of a white object at dusk? Try using the color pincet on it then, you'll get a blue tint.

If you put the picture into an image editor and use the eyedropper tool, you get the colors it is.

Like tenks and Caleb said, It's mostly about the eyes correlation to the brain and the coloring of the inside of the room. The actual dress is Black and Blue as stated by the owner of said dress. It's all about the lighting and room conditions, and how they effect your perspective when you look at them.

I have yet to actually see the picture in Blue and Black, although I've see a picture of the picture and it was clear as day blue/black.

But for now, I continue to see it as white and gold. Kind of interesting stuff actually.

I bet it depends on how much light falls on it. There is a slight blue in the white, which I guess is better seeable in a darker surrounding.
