I think this is a fairly laid back community. As Root said it's just people having fun and messing around. No one seems to actually hate another around here; I don't think there are any member here who's actually particularly unpleasant.

Most threads turn to a shitstorm in less than 3 pages. Just recently there was the huge argument over changes to the index. The debate section gets even worse.

About 3 threads this year != most threads. You're blowing it out of proportion since there was a big argument recently. Arguments happen.

Hey Technical some people here that disagree on certain subjects and there will be arguments from time to time, but this is still a good community and have some very good animators, like cressel and jojishi

For me personally I stopped pivot because it was too limiting in the 'pretty' aspect (although some manage to make it that way regardless)
I've improved in animation since but many of you guys here are tiers above me.

Dark Demon will remain nostalgic because it helped foster my love for the arts.

For a couple of months I thought that Animator Forum was the real new DD and that the community had just died. Sure, DD used to be something bigger, but I was delighted when I found thedarkdemon remaining as active as it is now.
