Bacon

Postby Lord » Sat Mar 28, 2015 6:16 am

Okay,
guys,
I'm SERIOUS on this one...

Bacon has been one of mans go-to foods since prehistoric times and I find it disgraceful that it hasn't been discussed here.

So...
How do you cook yer' bacon?
Image
Do you grill it?
Image
Do you fry it?
Image

Do you Assault rifle it?
Image

Bacon is one of mans most beloved foods and deserves to be discussed here... in the Spam Pit.
So hit me with yer' bacon routine,

how much bacon per day?
Do like strips of it?
Or maybe smoked?

Don't really like bacon much to be honest.

I'm with Alca. Bacon is overhyped and isn't all that good imo

Bacon is the foundation of food. Without bacon, there is no food. Bacon makes food. Bacon.

Blasphemy!
Bacon is love! Bacon... is life.

But the way I love my bacon is to have it grilled until it's nearly over-crisped. That way the actual meat of the bacon is still chewy and the fatty bits are crispy but still somewhat chewy. If it's done too little, then the fatty bits stay fatty, and if over-done the meaty bits turn thin and hard, and the fatty bits crunchy, like char.

It has to be done perfectly.

My family nearly always uses turkey bacon, which isn't all that bad, but the bacon is so flimsy and wet and there's no crunch to it at all. On the rare occasions that I have gotten actual pork bacon, I found that I like it to be very crunchy, cooked to the point of nearly overdone.

It's not that bacon is overrated (it is), it's that 'bacon' has become this stupid 'serious' joke that's stupid and I get a stroke from it.

I don't like crispy bacon btw, shit's gross and it has like no fucking flavor. Get some decency, boys. I make perogies and sometimes I'll even make my own bacon bits for em.

If you don't know what perogies are we're never gonna be friends, sorry m8

Of course I know what perogies are. They're dumplings of unleavened dough. (I didn't just Google that...)
I'm seeing a lot of negativity towards bacon here guys, it's not right.
