the thing that is most notable is the weird texture. It looks like a UV problem to me, but I'm not sure. Nevertheless you could just use a procedural wood material. There are plenty of them out there ;)
Also don't overdo it on the normal/bump.

But I'd say it's a decent start. Depending on how serious you take 3D modelling I'd advise you to watch a short tutorial every day or 2 and in one month you'll improve way more than you can ever imagine. Or at least that worked for me ;D
