Lpmxp2029.com pop-up ad

Postby Behemoth » Tue Jul 15, 2014 11:31 pm

So recently I got a pop-up randomly, so I exited out of it, tried opening my other browsers to make sure that it wasn't constantly happening but so far nothing. It hasn't popped up again and I checked both my control panel and add-ons and there doesn't seem to be any shady programs installed without my knowledge. Not sure whats going on cause I finally tried to do a scan with Malware-Bytes and nothing popped up so although I think I have a virus, there are a lot signs indicating I don't please help.
Thanks.

I wouldn't think TDD has popup ads, at least not to my knowledge and I don't even use adblock

You probably just accidentally installed an addon for ads on your web browser. I've done it quite a bit before. All you have to do is find it and remove it.

you guys aren't reading his post

"got a pop-up randomly, so I exited out of it"
"It hasn't popped up again"
"checked both my control panel and add-ons"
"scan with Malware-Bytes and nothing popped up"
"I think I have a virus"
"there are a lot signs indicating I don't"

there must be something he forgot to mention. if nothing's wrong, why does he think he has a virus?

regardless, a bunch of removal guides are available when you google Lpmxp2029.com

I must have skimmed through the ending lol

I really don't like how the links are only too how to remove the file/program
Usually when I find a virus I would like to read up on what it does and ways to avoid getting it again, but that's just me

I literally shit bricks when I think I have a virus. Also I didn't really go to any shady websites from what I remember. I didn't think something like this would just happen randomly. From what I remember, I think it may have happened when I tried to go to artangle in a side tab but forgot about it briefly. Not 100% sure. Also I have adblock plus so its was even weirder.

Edit: Or maybe deviantart I'm not sure.

Though, what made you think that you have a virus? What's happening to your computer as of now? I mean, is your computer acting weirdly or something? Is it slowing down with no specific reason? Extra errors popping out of nowhere? If you describe what's happening more precisely, you will help us helping you.

Perhaps it was just a popup?

Popups are kinda just popups. They don't give you instavirus. You close the tab and continue with life.

I once got a popup like that saying "There's people waiting for you here in *some random spanish village*". Not sure how it misdirected me like that, but I loved it.
