I'm a little late on this one, please donate to the cause and watch the stream if you can. The cause is for the early detection of cancer, and the speedrunning is absolutely fantastic.

This is all quite impressive, but the audience there is kind of retarded. I'm glad the narrators actually know a lot of what's going on though.

I've seen a lot of Youtube vids about AGDQ, i love the game choices, the tricks they use and the goal of all this.

I know that Twitch has much more laggy on my laptop than Livestream Procaster, but i'll try to watch the stream anyway.

I can't believe they've raised over 520K. It's amazing to see, and really something special. The games they're playing right now seem pretty fucking boring in my eyes, but if they're raising money for charity, then I say props to them.

meh, there were some nice games but overall the narrators keep advertizing the sponsors and mostly female narrators keep cutting the runners off to read donations, in the older years the runners would actually announce when donations can be read, i guess its for a good cause tho the foundation mainly specializes on advertizing to raise cancer awareness, instead of directly working on ways against it, so yeah it's been p sellout this year and i don't really ever want to buy a humblebundle again nor do i want to go on something autistic or anything after these huge spam of advertizing for them. i know events like that need funding but it wasnt as obnoxious the other years. idk still fun to watch some runs but it kinda has lost its charme

I think the term "selling out" is pretty fucking subjective bro. If you're raising money for something like this, money that isn't actually going to be their money then it's probably fine.

i just feel they're relying more on sponsors and their AWESOME CAUSE than having entertaining runs for the most part

Because that's obviously what it's about lol... The speedrun part is just to grab the attention of the twitch/gamer demographic.

Can't really deny this. Old AGDQs felt a lot better. They wouldn't do the donations in the middle of games generally, for example, unless something boring was happening. Now it just feels like sponsorship the experience part 22. Still not bad, but not nearly as good as every other AGDQ pretty much (besides obvious cringe areas)

No you're complaining because you want to.

Despite the varying level of emphasis that's put on the gaming it's pretty clear that it's always been more about the fundraising aspect, I mean that's why it's a THING to begin with.
