Windows 10 Keynote now Live

Essentially wishy washy banter as to why Windows 10 won't suck. Let's hope they pull it off this time.

A few notable things:

• Start menu is back, can be expanded to start screen in tablet mode, thank fuck.
• They're running the Desktop demo on an Alienware PC lmfao
• Search bar will now be where the quick launch used to be (XP). Personally I'd prefer it in the start menu, takes up less screen real estate.
• Cortana (voice search) will be on Windows 10 PCs, I hope I don't accidentally activate it while playing games.
• Windows search will populate with Windows store shit, ugh.
• Win7 - 8.1 can be upgraded to Win10 free of charge for the first year, or at least I think that's what they said.

• You can stream games from your XBONE directly to your PC and Tablet, which is actually pretty neato.
• Microsoft office is free on windows 10 phones and tablets, which should be a no-brainer anyway.

• The one actually new thing they came up with is Hololens VR, which makes everyone look like technosexuals

kinda just want custom themes back and font smoothing that doesn't suck dick else I'll just stick to 7 til EOS

FYI custom themes were never forbidden to begin with, they just had to be patched by third parties.

There was one time where they deployed an update and broke all unsigned themes though, that was brilliant..

And even though Elementary OS is pretty sexy it's not sufficient for my purposes. I'm definitely putting it on my laptop though, easy.

Yeah I know, that they are not forbidden but it seems ppl are having harder times to successfully make themes that move away from the (imo terrible metro-design). then again I haven't kept up with win 8 customization at all, so there might be a breakthrough, idk

oh and we kinda misunderstood each other on EOS, i meant end of service with that haha, elementary os is sleek af tho

I'd hop onto Unix in a whim if they get full support for games

Yes it will probably fail because it is the first of it's kind. But I think it could open loads of gateways to new types of technology which is really exciting.
