I'm using Windows 10 right now. I had some trouble with the internet so I just restarted it. I'll look some more into this thing concerning privacy and so on. I'm glad they brought back the start menu.

Yeah, probably the best thing about win10 - but I have Classic Shell for win8.1 anyway. Works perfect and took maybe two minutes to set up, and I can still access the normal win8 start screen if I so desire. All the customization is great too.


And if you're interested in the privacy infringement in windows 10, check this out:

It should be noted that this is just what someone else compiled with pretty clear anti-win10 bias, so it should be taken with a grain of salt - I haven't actually confirmed any of this myself as I haven't upgraded to win10 on any devices yet. It seems legit though.

This is all very true stuff; I haven't installed windows yet but the fact that this shit exists is dumb because a lot of people are gonna get mad. They should ALL be opt-outable and windows updates should almost definitely be able to be deferred on ALL systems. I install windows updates, but I install them late because I'm busy doing something or some shit. I think this to stop piracy, but that doesn't even make sense because people will just pirate the pro/enterprise versions to turn this shit off or find look arounds. it's really dumb honestly. I don't mind the cortana one personally, though I can see why people would.

Yeah, I just in general find it really shady how many loops one has to go through to opt out of many of those things, and how misleading some of the options are.
And 8.1 is pretty much perfect for me anyway.

Anywho, does anyone here play BeamNG.drive? I got it the other day and it's pretty fun. You don't need a super-powerful computer, but older ones probably will run at around 5 fps.

Anyone got a solid 1080p monitor recommendation for under 140? Standard shit I guess. 60Hz, less than 6ms response time would be nice. Looking at the AOC i2267Fw, but it's a little smaller than I'd like. Labeled as 22", but it seems most people are measuring it at 21".
