Rétribution -- a RPG Maker project

Outside of pivot, I can spend a lot of time on Rpg Maker 2003.

And now, i've finally an enough motivationnal project that will keep me on for months until it's finished. It's a very very personal project.
I'm planning to do all the story, graphics (and some rips of Zelda LA, and game design stuff on my own. (but doing the musics/sound effects from scratch, naah, maybe some voice acting)

I made the hardest part of the game design (RM coding is fuuun), and started to do the graphics.

The story is basic : the hero is chosen by the god of good to demolish the god of evil (whoo-hoo), and gift him with a sword that nothing in the world can parry.
So the hero and his 2 friends (a rival and a girl) are going in the final castle and face the evil boss on his throne.

However, the hero failed to destroy the bad guy, he was tricked and something unexpectable happened... The hero could no longer hold the sword, nor can he clench his fist. Maybe he's been cursed.
The fight became impossible for the crew, they had to flee away.
Then, the hero is seen by many as a failure, even the god of light don't care anymore about his case. That's it for the intro...

All hope is not lost, there is still the trusty girl, who can keep the sword with her until the hero can bear it again. The hero will also meet an old man who seem to know a lot of things about the world's mechanisms.
On the other side, the rival will try his best to earn the right to hold the sword and get all the glory he always wanted.

The game will feature Action-RPG in a special way. Without any weapon, how can you beat off your opponents ? Easy : you run into them.
You may lose some HP, but if you get the good equipement/skill set, you'll prevail.

Will the hero obtain back the right of wearing the sword before anyone else do ?
How many times the girl will be kidnapped ?
Why is the old man so kind towards the hero ?
I don't know, i'll think of this later.

I've always had a love for pixelated RPG games, especially the horror ones like "Ib", "The Crooked Man", and "The Witch's House". I'll definitely be asking for some gaming YouTubers to check this one out. Hope all turns well. :)

HP and MP bars are 90% functionnal, and i'm doing the intro.
