Water effect

Postby Firecracker » Thu Apr 24, 2014 6:45 pm

Couple of rough water effects i did recently. Man I was never able to animate water before, but these came out pretty good.

I can't tell if this is pivot or flash, you're so good man.

Edit: Lukas this is in the flash section, I know that. I'm just saying his animations are so good they look like flash animations. And plus he has done things like this before in pivot.

It's Flash, if that was done it Pivot we'd have a new Elite right here

Straight off the top of my head bro. Usually when I try to animate something like water, or fire etc. I end up focusing too much on each individual frame trying to get everything clean and precise. Then when i watch it back, i see that the individual frames are drawn perfectly but the overall movement is shit. But when i started sketching shit out roughly without the attention to detail, it made a huge difference.

I'm even more impressed that you didn't reference any of this. I'm blown away man. Water has got to be one of the most difficult things to animate, but you did it without even referencing. Damn son.

Why? Flash is way more impressive.

Riding a bicycle without hands is more impressive, right?

I'm pretty sure animating it in pivot is far more complex/efforty than in flash, so nope.

Looking very nice, still a lot to work on tho. I'll try to get back into flash and whatnot someday too.
