Re: Swaikha's Animations - 6 year rust :o

Postby Silo » Wed Apr 23, 2014 8:11 am

It looks pretty good actually! The scenery etc as well
I think the kick has him a bit stiff- I think its the arms that I do not like with the kick, Smoke looks good, it may be nice to see some little pebbles and rocks be thrown around as particle effects when he pops out of the ground ya know?

Nice for 6 years of rust, I am in the same boat, animated in 2005, joined DD in 2006, and stopped somewhere late 2007 animating frequently.. Rust sucks eh? ;)

Hey man, I appreciate your time you put into commenting on my thread.

I tend to have weird, kind of unrealistic movements, that is just in my style, I like my sticks to look like those ninjas you see in movies doing totally unnecessary flips and shit everywhere before a fight.

But yeah, I do agree that the ground-breaking effect would actually look better with some pebbles flyin out, maybe i'll add that (:

Rust does suck, but I feel a second wind, I feel like I'll come back better than ever, and I bet you will too.

Keep animating :)

That first kicked looked really nice but the rest of it (the run) was choppy

Yeah, you don't know how many times I went back and tried to make the movements after the kick perfect.
I just ruined it, lol.

I appreciate you commenting on my thread, and I will take your comments into consideration to help make me a better animator.

Had to comment on your responses to people's comments on your thread, to much politeness stahp!

Show us some more stuff buddy! as per style, I know how it feels having people critique your style but some things need to be done to fix choppiness style or no style :)

But it will all kink itself out when you continue to animate

Yeah, that and watching where your limbs are, for instance look at the run at the end, where his arms are all weird behind his back, that just doesnt look good and stuff, so positioning is a huge part in that factor as well

I feel like the second punch didn't have much power even though it appeared to be thrown in the same manner as the firs one. Also, it looked like the left stick predicted the kick, you should have the left stick move downwards after the attacking stick moves his upper leg.

There is no second punch haha, he grabs his face and pulls him down.
Obviously I need to work on it if you can't tell.
