Why do we get printed toilet paper?

I seriously wonder why we'd have print on toilet paper. A lot of budget brands also include this feature, and all it can do it increase the overall cost. I never get any satisfaction from the printing, and have never done anything crafty like wiping on the dolphins (maybe I've been doing it wrong all these years)
