Future Pivot feature suggestions (e.g. bendy lines)
Re: Future Pivot feature suggestions (e.g. bendy lines)
I can see the gradient tool being used in many creative ways. I'm just worried about the intolerable lag it might cause.

Ability to adjust the number of colors in the gradient?Sifter wrote:I can see the gradient tool being used in many creative ways. I'm just worried about the intolerable lag it might cause.

Yeah, because too many sticks with colors, even like 10 will already start causing lag no matter how good your computer is. Especially if you have them transparent and overlap.Franklin wrote:Ability to adjust the number of colors in the gradient?Sifter wrote:I can see the gradient tool being used in many creative ways. Could you add layers? that would be awesome, it help us to make backgrounds, shadows, effects, etc.
or you could just add seen/unseen tool that make figures dissapeared, and if you want them back, simply use ctrl+a(sellect all) and click seen
Text tool would be helpfull if we want to make pure pivot animation
Add open animation shortcut, i don't think we're using ctrl+o to open options anyway(i think)

I don't use Pivot these days though I do check this thread to see how it's developing. Franklin's suggestion of a stick tapering between different sized dots is awesome and I'm sure would be used by everyone.

Maybe something to adjust the thickness of a segment outside of the stick builder.
Re: Future Pivot feature suggestions (e.g. bendy lines)
I'm having this error which never occurred before in which after I increase the frame repeating number, I'm always set back to 1 after a little bit, or when I change something or play the animation. It's just started happening, and I've had this going on for about 15 minutes.
I'm on Pivot 4.2 just in case you want to know
E: I restarted my computer and now it seems fine .__.

It would be cool to have a little colored outline around the figure you've selected. For example, I need to fix the layering of a Mix & Match gun or edit the colors on a fullbody. It's a pain to have to check the colors or editor to tell what figure is selected. And if someone didn't like it, they could turn it off in the options.

Timeline (like the one in flash) would be great!
I'm too lazy animating many stickfigures per frame, and a timeline could easily fix that. I could just easily go back and add and animate a stickfigure. This could also double as layers, too!
also!
zoom out the canvas feature would be great too! or at least be able to move the canvas so you can see more outside the canvas.

I have some fancy idea for the stickmaking tool. It may be already used in some way in stykz already tho. I am not sure.
It would be sick if you could add multiple child joints to a parent joint to create some squash and stretch and if there would be a fill tool inbetween the white areas. This would make it possible to make some easy 3D.
Some kind of example.
Pivot parent and child joints. Fill tool.
Use it in some other ways.

Re: Future Pivot feature suggestions (e.g. bendy lines)
Would it be possible to make pivot 4 open source for people who want to add in things on their own or even contribute to the actual program and you can add those features in that way?
Re: Future Pivot feature suggestions (e.g. bendy lines)
omg please yes. Pivot mods will be a thing again like the old days. Could you please, Pete?.Gage wrote:Would it be possible to make pivot 4 open source for people who want to add in things on their own or even contribute to the actual program and you can add those features in that way?

Re: Future Pivot feature suggestions (e.g. bendy lines)
Sorry, that's very unlikely. Pivot is my business and source of income. If I made it open source I would earn nothing from it any more and since I would have lost full control I would probably lose interest in development. Also, the program would become messy with a complex interface and many random features that most people wouldn't use. There would also be file incompatibility issues between the different versions..Gage wrote:Would it be possible to make pivot 4 open source for people who want to add in things on their own or even contribute to the actual program and you can add those features in that way?
