So this story follows my countries national sport, AFL. These players don't get paid even close to the numbers of Soccer, NBA, American Football, Baseball, etc. To put it in perspective, there are 18 teams with approximately 40 players in their squad. So around 720 players in the AFL.
8 out of these 720 earn over a million dollars a year, so just over 1%. Compare that to other sports, its quite low.
Anyway, it's great to see players take the time out of their busy schedule to do stuff like this. The team featured, the Richmond Tigers, are my second favourite side.
I used to hate Jake King (the small player who's running it), but this makes me respect him a hell of a lot.
