I got through my very first playthrough of Dark Souls 2 with the Zwei. Wouldn't say it's that bad, but it's definitely not the best greatsword.

It's got average poise and counter damage for an UGS, problem is everything else is also average as fuck (including scaling). Like if I wanna utilize an UGS with that style of 2h swing you could just go with one of the million other variants that actually offers something.

One thing that I do like about it is how low the requirements are, i've seen really high VIT/END/ADP builds that move like fucking ninjas which I think is the point of the weapon. It's supposed to be an UGS that still lets you get away with being slippery, which defeats the purpose of even using one to begin with honestly. Also works well for weapon buffers I guess.

The Zwei is basically the weapon of choice for someone who wishes he could use a Katana without looking like a homosexual.

Yea, I agree, but eh. I'll always have a special place in my heart for it.

Also, the bound shield makes this build looks x10 better with the Gyrm Hammer. Thanks for pointing that out bruh. Gonna start a holy paladin type of build. Suggestions for armor anyone?

Ok so the trick to getting gold shit to match in this game, Don't use the mastodon set use the RUSTED mastodon set because the gold is faded and looks more like bronze. I haven't tested it but you should be able to match Ruin and Velstadt shit with it.

this was my attempt a while back and it looks awful imo, Dragonbro weapons are a good match tho.

Wrong but it's a fantastic sword imo.

It's not that bad if you have good ADP or just have a spell parry shield.

At this point it's not even really hard it's just such a fucking mundane area.
I finished the playthrough anyway.

I really wanna try a high pressure build with a fuckload of endurance plus Ivory warrior ring, Stone ring, Giants ring and just see how many half staggers i can get with a falchion or some shit.

I never realized how useless Faith could be when starting to a new character. I have a SL 100 with 28 str and 30 fth, and I barely need to use my miracles. It's great for my +10 Lightning Greatsword, but the only miracle I ever use is Resplendent Life before boss fights. Can't wait to get to Sl 200 and get op again

SL150 is definitely still the best soul level. There are a bunch of retards that swear by this 125 meta, but it allows for zero fucking build diversity. 150 is still low enough to keep the mages in check too.

Eh, I've never had a problem with mages. I always carry a shield that has 100% resistance in every element. It's fun to have someone spam Soul Spear while you hold hold up a Magic Magic Mirror.
